Here are some helpful tips that may make it easier....
Location - This is probably the most important of all. The right location will make it extra special and Sri Lanka boasts of so many! Be it the hills, the ocean front or even tea estates... you have your pick. Best is to work with a renowned travel agent to make the connection. These days there are hidden gems where you can rent an entire villa for your wedding party or even have that extravagant wedding at a 5 star hotel in Colombo. Colombo our firm favourite is Cinnamon Lakeside, Galleface hotel to mention a few. If out of Colombo Tea trails, Earls Regency, Kandy, Weligama Bay, Sheraton Kosgoda are a few we love.
Food - Whatever the location Sri Lanka boasts of so many options. Most hotels are
well versed in a decent continental fare and local and regional options. Sri Lankan food is highly flavored and many of our destination wedding parties love the burst of flavour it carries. Best is to come a little early and book some appointments for taste testing. It is easier to have the location bear the responsibility of the food but there are external caterers who can perhaps add more value.
Outfit & dressing- While most brides carry their outfits with them , there maybe mishaps last minute changes or perhaps the bride prefers to buy from Sri Lanka itself in keeping with the whole vibe. 4. Wedding planner - A wedding planner can make life so much easier for a bride especially one who is travelling. It is imperative to choose from a planner who will work with all parties to make life easier for you and understands your vision and respects all parties to do their work without micromanaging. There are so many we would recommend that we have worked with over the years.
5. Flower arrangements - Now this makes the location go from zero to hero and most hotels will offer floral arrangements that are fairly decent too. If not you could work with some private florists who are specialized in weddings. We can recommend some amazing florists we have worked with in the past too.
6. Photographer - Capturing the essence of the moments is a key requirement for any wedding. It is afterall the memories you carry. Most wedding packages will have good photograpohers they work with over the years.
